FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dirt Road Angels Have Just Released Their Third Single to Canadian Country Radio!!

They say that every city girl needs a country boy … and that’s exactly what the Dirt Road Angels are singing about in their new release to Canadian country radio!  “Make Me Wanna”, produced by Rob Hewes and performed by CCMA award winning instrumentalists Chad Melchert, Ryan Davidson, Tyler Vollrath, Bart MacKay and Derek Stremel, is the 3rd single off of their 2014 Paint The Town Red album, and has hit the airwaves as of July 18, 2016.  The Dirt Road Angels consists of Dahlia Wakefield, Danita, Karen Claypool and Shila Marie, and Shawna Lynne.

“We decided to release this song for summer because it’s a let-your-hair-down, feel good tune and we’ve had nothing but great responses when we perform it live.”  These gals have had great success with their previous releases off this album, and are looking forward to what reaction “Make Me Wanna” will bring!

And to add to the excitement, they have also been working with Barrett Kelsko of Fadeback Studios United who produced the video of their single and the Dirt Road Angels are ready to officially release it on August 4th to coincide with their radio release!  “The song has lots of visuals within the lyrics, and we are looking forward to bringing them to life on the screen.”  “We’re excited to share this song with all of our fans and we hope that our song makes you get up and dance, and maybe “Make YOU Wanna” get a little country!”

Make sure to call and request Dirt Road Angels‘ new single “Make Me Wanna” at your favourite country station today!  And, also check out the Dirt Road Angels’ YouTube channel on Thursday, August 4th for the official video release!

Dirt Road Angels Review-Impact Music, Roy Powell

July 20, 2016

I’ve had the privilege of knowing a couple of the Dirt Road Angels for a while now; Danita and Shila Marie are frienI’ve had the privilege of knowing a couple of the Dirt Road Angels for a while now; Danita and Shila Marie are friends that Karen and I have met over the last few years. I’ve even done a little (not enough) writing (one song) with (and about) Danita (an article, not a song lol). I then had the pleasure of meeting two more of the lovely and talented “Angels” when they performed on July 17th at our annual ROPE Jam. Dahlia Wakefield and Karen Claypool have now been added to our list of friends.

After listening to and watching the Dirt Road Angels performance, I quickly scurried over to purchase their two CDs before they were all snapped up by the crowd of new fans that had gathered by the side of the stage. Alas, I ended up with one CD (their first one) so I promptly bought an iTunes card the next day and purchased the second “DRA” CD on- line.

The first CD is an introductory compilation of songs performed by each of the girls in the band individually and the second, an EP that is available on iTunes is the five girls singing together that collectively make up the Dirt Road Angels.

I enjoyed the first CD immensely; it offers an intimate look into the immense talents that combine to make up the band. Let’s take a glimpse at one song (not picking favorites) from each of the girls on album # one:

– Track 2. “The Dancing Queen” Written by Larry Wayne Clark, Shelly Rann and Marc Rossi. Okay I lied (this one is a favorite) A bone-chilling documental look into the evil illness known as Alzheimer’s disease. “The Dancing Queen” is a superbly written song that is brilliantly delivered by Shawna Lynne (the Angel that I’ve yet to meet).

– Track 6. “All The Way To Heaven” Written by Dean McTaggert, Gerald O’Brien and Catt Gravitt. Dahlia Wakefield’s undeniable vocal talents are brought to their rightful place in the front of this pristine work. This is the perfect motion picture soundtrack song.

– Track 7. “Done” Written by Karen Claypool and Rob Hewes. Beautiful vocals teamed with equally beautiful instrumentation, this is a great example of a modern power-ballad.

– Track 12. “Be There” Written by Shila Marie and Jared Sowan. Contemporary Country Music at its best, Shila Marie pulls out all of the stops on this one. Her Songwriting talent is eclipsed by her remarkable singing ability.

– Track 13. “Ripped Jeans” Written by Danita Lynn, Randy J. Martin and Aaron J. Goodvin. This track is the quintessential Dirt Road Angels song. “Ripped Jeans” is gutsy and hard hitting, perhaps the spark that grew into the intensely entertaining inferno that is conveyed in the Dirt Road Angels EP.

(Okay I lied a lot… all of the above mentioned tracks are favorites of mine)

I’m not going to review all of the tracks on the Dirt Road Angels EP, because I can only think of so many ways to say amazing. I do believe that I have illustrated in my review of the first Dirt Road Angels album, that severally these five girls demonstrate inescapable talent.

To put these profound singular talents into the unified band unit that they represent (backed by an unparalleled rhythm section), they truly become a force to be reckoned with.

Coalesce their stage presence, live performance crowd-appeal, collective on & off-stage personalities and stellar harmonies and you’ve got the complete package.
